Meet the Team

Jennifer Wiles, M.A., LMHC, BC-DMT

Director of HEARTplay, Camp Erin Boston and Children's Services at CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc.

Jennifer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist. Jennifer has served as the director of Children's Services, the HEARTplay program and Camp Erin Boston for the past seven years. Under Jennifer's direction, children's services has expanded significantly; bringing her award winning programs east to serve more grieving children.
She is on the adjunct faculty of Lesley University's Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, and an approved site supervisor for their Field Training Program.
Jennifer leads the school age group and teen group at HEARTplay WEST in Wayland, one Saturday a month 10AM- 12PM (school age), 1PM-3PM (teen). Jennifer also supports and guides the teen mentors. In addition Jennifer leads the young adult group that takes place every other Sunday 5-7pm.

Ken Barringer, M.A., LMHC  

 Director of The Academy for Physical and Social Development

Ken is the Director of the Academy of Physical and Social Development where he has worked since 1981. He is an adjunct faculty member at the Boston College School of Eduction and at Lesley University Division of Counseling and Psychology. He is a consultant to public and private schools as well as mental health programs and summer camps. Ken has a private practice specializing in grief and loss.
Ken facilitates the parent/caregiver support group for HEARTplay EAST in Newton, one Saturday a month 10 -11:30AM.

Audrey LaVallee, LMHC, BC-DMT

HEARTplay East Group Leader
Audrey LaVallee is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist. Her experience includes work with elders and adults living with a wide range of challenges. She has enjoyed teaching and training therapists as adjunct faculty at Lesley University and Endicott College.
She is passionate about dance and performs locally when she can spare time from her two young boys! She is continually fascinated and inspired by the capacity for movement to connect us to ourselves and to each other.
Audrey leads the school age group at HEARTplay EAST in Newton, one Saturday a month 10-11:30AM.

Katie McGrail, M.A., R-DMT

HEARTplay West Pre-School Group Leader

Katie is a Master’s Level Clinician pursuing LMHC licensure, a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist, and a 200-hour certified yoga instructor. Katie completed her graduate internship working with hospice families, HEARTplay and Camp Erin Boston in 2016-2017, and is honored to be continuing that work as a Children’s Services Counselor. Her experience also includes teaching dance and yoga to children & adults and work with adults living with challenges including memory loss, homelessness, and acquired/traumatic brain injury.
Katie leads the pre-school HEARTplay group in Wayland, one Saturday a month from 9-9:45am and facilitates the caregiver support group for HEARTplay West in Wayland, one Saturday a month from 10a-12p.

Jon Hazilla, Percussion and Running Specialist at HEARTplay. 
We are fortunate to have Jon bring his incredible experience as a musician and mentor to our HEARTplay groups.
Jon has been a Professor at Berklee College for twenty-nine years.
He is a certified Hospice volunteer for Aseracare Hospice. He has volunteered with various humanitarian organizations. He is a Pastoral Associate at First Parish Unitarian Universalist church in Brookline, Massachusetts and teaches in the R. E. program. He has run forty marathons and one ultra..
Ashley Griffin, RN, HEARTplay Facilitator
Ashley works as a registered nurse at Lahey Clinic, helps facilitate HEARTplay at Cambridge Community Center, and serves as Head Nurse for Camp Erin Boston.

Victoria Powell, Intern in Children's Services at
CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc.,
graduate student at Lesley University.

Victoria Powell is in her final year of her master's degree program at Lesley University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance Movement Therapy. She is also pursuing a graduate certificate in Philosophy and Ethics through the Harvard Extension School. Victoria graduated from James Madison University (Harrisonburg, VA) in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Dance and Psychology.  She has been dancing for twenty-three years utilizing skills from ballet, modern, tap, jazz and hip hop in her creative movement and dance movement therapy work. Victoria is grateful to be a part of the HEARTplay team.

Lindsey Spratt, Intern in Children's Services at CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc., graduate student at Lesley University.

Lindsey Spratt is in her third year of her Master’s at Lesley University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy (expected graduation May 2019).  She graduated in 2015 from Mount Holyoke College with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Dance. She previously worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA with children, families, and volunteers through an organization providing support for families and individuals who are currently or have previously experienced homelessness. Lindsey is very honored and excited to be apart of HEARTplay this year.

Kelsey Sawyer, Intern in Children's Services
at Caregroup parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc., graduate student at Lesley University.

Kelsey is a graduate student at Lesley University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance Movement Therapy. Kelsey’s love for dance started when she was three years old and continued throughout college. She graduated from Mercyhurst University in 2015 where she majored in Psychology and Dance. Kelsey has dance/movement therapy experience working with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting, and with elderly adults in dementia and Alzheimer care facilities. Kelsey is passionate about the importance of grief work and is looking forward to being part of the HEARTplay program.

Jasmin Torrejon Chu, Intern in Children's Services at CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc., graduate student at Lesley University.

Jasmin Torrejon Chu is a Lesley graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance Movement Therapy (expected graduation May 2019). She loves animals and children and is a proud mom to a sprightly 3 year-old. Jasmin is very passionate about social justice and is a part of various advocacy groups in her spare time including Mijente Boston and Right to the City National. She has danced Salsa for many years and enjoys learning new styles.
