Meet the Team

Jennifer Wiles, MA, LMHC, BC-DMT

Director of HEARTplay, Camp Erin Boston and Children's Services at CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc.

Jennifer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist. Jennifer has served as the director of Children's Services, the HEARTplay program and Camp Erin Boston for the past five years. Under Jennifer's direction, children's services has expanded significantly in the past year; bringing her award winning programs east to serve more grieving children. She is on the adjunct faculty of Lesley University's Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, and an approved site supervisor for their Field Training Program.
Jennifer leads the school age group and teen group at HEARTplay WEST in Wayland, one Saturday a month 10AM- 12PM (school age), 1PM-3PM (teen). Jennifer also supports and guides the teen mentors. In addition Jennifer leads the young adult group that takes place every other Wednesday 6:30-8PM.

Ken Barringer, M.A., LMHC  

 Director of The Academy for Physical and Social Development

Ken is the Director of the Academy of Physical and Social Development where he has worked since 1981. He is an adjunct faculty member at the Boston College School of Eduction and at Lesley University Division of Counseling and Psychology. He is a consultant to public and private schools as well as mental health programs and summer camps. Ken has a private practice specializing in grief and loss.
Ken facilitates the parent/caregiver support group for HEARTplay EAST in Newton, one Saturday a month 10 -11:30AM.

Stephanie Chancey, MA, R-DMT

Children's Services Counselor at CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc.

Stephanie is a Master's Level Clinician, Registered Dance/Movement Therapist and Licensed Elementary and Preschool Teacher.  She is currently pursuing LMHC licensure. Stephanie completed her graduate internship with Jennifer Wiles and feels incredibly fortunate to continue this work as a member of the Children's Services Team.

Stephanie leads the preschool/kindergarten HEARTplay Group at HEARTplay WEST in Wayland, one Saturday a month 9-9:45AM and the Parent/Caregiver Support Group at HEARTplay WEST in Wayland, one Saturday a month 10AM-12PM.

Ashley Griffin, RN at Lahey Clinic
Ashley helps facilitate the HEARTplay group at Cambridge Community Center.
Jon Hazilla, Percussion and Running Specialist at HEARTplay. 
We are fortunate to have Jon bring his incredible experience as a musician and mentor to our HEARTplay groups.
Jon has been a Professor at Berklee College for twenty-nine years.
He is a certified Hospice volunteer for Aseracare Hospice. He has volunteered with various humanitarian organizations. He is a Pastoral Associate at First Parish Unitarian Universalist church in Brookline, Massachusetts and teaches in the R. E. program. He has run forty marathons and one ultra..
Audrey LaVallee, LMHC, BC-DMT, HEARTplay Group Leader
Audrey LaVallee is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist. Her experience includes work with elders and adults living with a wide range of challenges. She has enjoyed teaching and training therapists as adjunct faculty at Lesley University and Endicott College.
She is passionate about dance and performs locally when she can spare time from her two young boys! She is continually fascinated and inspired by the capacity for movement to connect us to ourselves and to each other.
Audrey leads the school age group at HEARTplay EAST in Newton, one Saturday a month 10-11:30AM.

Katrina

Shadé Alfred, Intern in Children's Services at
CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc.,
graduate student at Lesley University.

Shadé Alfred is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she is a graduate student at Lesley University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance Movement Therapy (MA expected May 2017). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work (Special) and a certificate in Dance and Dance Education from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, in Trinidad. She is a registered Medical Social Worker in Trinidad and Tobago, and is trained in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Folk and Contemporary dance styles. Shadé has years of experience working with children in both medical and school settings as a Medical Social Worker and a School Social Worker. She is pleased to be a part of the Heartplay team.

Katrina Guittar, Intern in Children's Services at CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc., graduate student at Lesley University.

Katrina Guittar is a student at Lesley University studying Mental Health counseling with a focus in Dance/Movement Therapy. Her passion for dance started at the age of three and her calling to the helping field of mental health began in High school. Katrina has worked with various organizations such as CARDV, Beginnigs Workshop, and Unique Steps Dance Academy. Upon graduation Katrina hopes to continue her work with children and families.

Laura Remillard, Intern in Children's Services
at Caregroup parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc., graduate student at Lesley University.
Laura is currently a second-year graduate student at Lesley University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy (MA expected May 2018). She graduated from the University of Tampa in 2012 and majored in Applied Dance with a Psychology minor. Laura has been dancing for nearly twenty years and she also has a variety of experience teaching dance and creative movement to individuals ranging from pre-K to elders in residential assisted living facilities. Laura is a passionate, creative, and enthusiastic individual and she is honored to be a part of the HEARTplay team.
Alejandra

Karen Alejandra Salazar, Intern in Children's Services at CareGroup Parmenter Home Care & Hospice, Inc., graduate student at Lesley University.

Alejandra is a graduate student at Lesley University and is pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy (Expected graduation: May 2018). She holds a B.S. in psychology from Nova Southeastern University (2016). She has experience working with children with various developmental disabilities. She is originally from Colombia and enjoys working with children of all ages. Alejandra is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish. Alejandra is grateful for being a part of the Heart Play community.
